Why Do Some Codeage Product Seals Have a Small Hole in the Center?Updated 5 days ago

Customers sometimes notice that the seal covering certain Codeage products has a small hole in the middle. This can look unusual if you are expecting a fully solid inner seal. The hole is intentional and part of a specific safety technology called a vented liner or pressure-vent liner.

What a vented or pressure-vent liner does
A vented liner is designed to allow small amounts of air to pass through the seal to balance internal pressure inside the bottle. This feature helps manage normal pressure changes that occur during:

• Temperature fluctuations
• Shipping and transport
• Altitude changes
• Movement and handling

The liner allows the package to “breathe” safely without compromising the contents.

Why this type of seal is used
Certain products—especially powders or items sensitive to pressure—can expand or contract during transit. A regular sealed liner could bubble, warp, or even pop if the internal pressure becomes too high.

A vented liner helps prevent:

• Seal deformation
• Bottle paneling or collapsing
• Accidental popping of the seal
• Moisture from being trapped inside the container

This improves product stability, prevents packaging issues, and maintains quality during storage and transport.

Does the hole affect product safety?
No. The vented design is not an opening to the product and does not expose the contents to the outside environment. It is engineered to allow controlled pressure release while maintaining a secure barrier.

The product remains fully sealed, protected, and safe to use.
